In a closely contested friendly, Brent Under 12’s narrowly lost 2-1 to Highgate Under 13’s in a game that served as valuable preparation ahead of the new season. Despite being a year younger, Brent held their own and made life difficult for their older opponents.
Brent’s goalkeeper Shaylah was the standout performer, earning the player of the match award with an incredible display between the posts. Her performance was highlighted by a stunning full-length dive that denied Highgate a certain goal, keeping Brent in the game until the final whistle.
The game provided a good test for the young Brent team as they look to build momentum going into the new season. Although they came up just short, the team can take plenty of positives from the performance.
Brent U11 Girls also played over the weekend, securing a 5-2 victory against United Dragons U12’s at Regents Park in an action-packed game, further highlighting the promising talent within the club.
